Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times and under control of a person.

Dogs are not allowed in the water or on boats. This is SEQ Water’s rule.

Don’t forget to pick up any mess your dog makes.

Can I have a camp fire?

Each of the campsites, homesteads and cabin have a fire pit. Fires are only allowed in these firepits.

Fire pits must not be moved. A fee of $50 is charged for any firepits which are moved to cover the cost of digging out the burnt ground and planting grass on the damaged area.

Firewood is available for purchase at the kiosk for $15 a bag, or may be purchased at the roadside stalls along Burnett Creek Road.

Trees on the camping ground must not be chopped down. A fee will be charged for any tree chopped down to pay for replacement and planting of the new tree.

Can boats be launched from the camping ground's lakeside area?

We do not have a boat ramp, but usually smaller boats and jet-skis can be launched from the camping ground’s lakeside access (depending on how muddy the ground is after rain or falling dam water levels). Boat and jet ski trailers are to be parked 50m back from the water’s edge to allow all campers access to the water.

Larger boats are advised to launch from the public concrete boat ramp located on Slater Park Road on the northside of Maroon Dam approximately 10km from the camping ground.

What amenities are available?

Flushing toilets and hot showers are available at the Billabong camping area near the office.

The Maroon Cove area has male and female toilets (port-a-loo style).  Maroon Cove guests may use the showers at the Billabong area.
